Accessible bathroom renovations for NDIS and aged care on the Central Coast
Accessible bathrooms built by our own plumbers and carpenter
ZC Plumbing builds accessible bathrooms across the Central Coast for NDIS participants, older residents and the retirement villages we maintain. Level-access showers, grab rails fixed into the wall structure, raised or wall-hung toilets, wider doorways and non-slip floors, all done as complete renovations by our own licensed plumbers and carpenter.
We build to your occupational therapist's plans and provide a detailed quote your plan manager can work from. Lifetime warranty on the work.
What makes a bathroom accessible
A shower you walk or wheel into with no step, which means the floor is graded to a drain rather than a hob, and the waterproofing is done for a wet room rather than a shower cubicle. Grab rails fixed into the wall structure, not the tiles, because a rail that pulls out is worse than no rail. A toilet at the right height, or wall-hung so a frame fits around it.
A doorway wide enough for a walker or a chair, which is where having our own carpenter on the job matters. A floor that isn't slippery when it's wet, and tapware that works with a closed hand. None of it has to look clinical, and most of the bathrooms we build this way look like any other new bathroom.
Why a plumber-led team
An accessible bathroom is mostly a drainage and waterproofing problem. Moving the shower to a level-access position means setting the fall in the floor and the drain position before anything else, and getting that wrong is the difference between a wet room that drains and one that puddles.
Because the plumber and the carpenter on a ZC job are one crew, the drain, the floor grade, the wall reinforcement for the rails and the doorway come from the same plan, and the work carries a lifetime warranty.
Older homes and retirement villages
Most of our accessible work is in Central Coast homes from the 1960s to the 1990s and in the retirement villages we maintain, including Berkeley Vale. The same renovation that opens the walls for the plumbing is what lets the layout change, and while they're open every service in the room is renewed.
We've done accessible bathrooms as part of complete renovations and as a single-room job with everything else left alone.
NDIS and aged care
We build to your occupational therapist's plans and provide a detailed quote your plan manager can work from. For aged-care residents and their families, the same bathroom is what lets someone stay in their own home, and it's usually a smaller job than people expect.

It's quoted in person as one all-inclusive price, and it depends on whether the shower moves and whether the doorway is widened. The plumbing side of any bathroom renovation usually runs $3,000 to $8,000 across NSW.
