Your local Terrigal plumbers

ZC Plumbing & Bathroom Solutions is a licensed plumbing company based in Terrigal, started by Zac Christensen in 2020 and now a team of seven. We fix the everyday jobs in Terrigal houses and apartments, the toilet that runs, the tap that drips, the drain that's blocked and the hot water that's gone cold, and we do complete bathroom renovations with our own carpenter.

There's a 24/7 emergency call-out for burst pipes, sewage coming up and gas leaks, and in business hours there's no separate call-out fee. Because Terrigal is home, a job here is usually a short drive for whoever is closest, which counts most on the day the hot water fails. Call 0476 000 533.

What Terrigal homes call us for most

Toilets, then taps and showers, then blocked drains. Most of those are done in one visit at the standard rate, and the toilet repairs page explains what usually goes wrong.

Hot water is next. On the beachside strip from Wamberal to Avoca the salt air takes a few years off a storage tank, so a system that would last ten or twelve years inland often doesn't here. We replace hot water systems across Terrigal usually on the day you call, mostly Rinnai, plus Rheem, Thermann and Vulcan, and the old unit is always taken away.

Then the apartment blocks on and above The Esplanade, where a leak through a ceiling raises the question of whose pipe it is. We work for strata and property managers and can tell you whether it's common property or the lot.

Older Terrigal streets, tree roots and earthenware pipe

Houses built before the 1980s in the older parts of Terrigal mostly have earthenware sewer pipes. They crack at the joints as the ground moves, and the gums and figs on those blocks send roots straight into the gap. That's why a drain that was cleared last year blocks again, and why a gurgling toilet is worth a look before it overflows.

We clear the line with a high-pressure jetter and run a CCTV camera through it so you can see the cause and decide whether it's a clear-and-watch or a repair. A standard clear with the jetter and camera is $385 including GST. The blocked drains page covers it in detail.

Responsibility for the sewer splits at the point of connection. Central Coast Council looks after its mains and the connection, and the pipework from there to the house is yours. Council's sewer blockage fact sheet explains where the line falls, and if you're not sure, we'll tell you once the camera's been through.

Bathroom renovation in Terrigal with a freestanding bath, timber double vanity and frameless shower by ZC Plumbing

Bathroom renovations in Terrigal

We complete around 40 bathroom and laundry renovations a year across the Central Coast, and Terrigal is where a lot of them are. The photos here are Terrigal jobs, a freestanding bath and timber double vanity, twin basins under round mirrors, and a lit shower niche beneath an arched mirror.

A complete bathroom usually runs $22,000 to $30,000, not counting the tiles, tapware and fittings you choose, and takes three to four weeks. Our own plumbers and carpenter do the demolition, waterproofing, tiling, plumbing and fit-off, so you're not coordinating separate trades. More on the bathroom renovations page and in our recent projects.

How much does a plumber cost in Terrigal?

In business hours there's no separate call-out fee in Terrigal. Most everyday repairs, a running toilet, a dripping tap or a blocked sink, invoice at around $200 or more depending on the work, and you're told the figure before we leave.

A straight hot water system swap starts from $1,595 including GST, installed, with the old unit taken away. Leak detection starts from $450 plus GST, and a gas cooktop swap onto an existing point is $385 including GST.

After hours the 24/7 emergency call-out is $300, $350 on a Sunday and $450 on a public holiday, and you're told that before anyone leaves.
