Plumbing services and everyday repairs on the Central Coast

The ZC Plumbing & Bathroom Solutions team of Central Coast plumbers

Local plumbers for the everyday jobs, and the big ones

ZC Plumbing & Bathroom Solutions is a licensed Central Coast plumbing company based in Terrigal, run by Zac Christensen with a team of seven since 2020.

We handle the everyday jobs, the toilet that runs, the tap that drips, the shower that leaks, the drain that's blocked, across Terrigal, Erina, Gosford and the peninsula, and we do complete bathroom renovations, hot water replacement, gas fitting and backflow testing as well, with a 24/7 emergency call-out.

Most everyday repairs invoice at around $200 or more and are done in one visit.

What we do

Bathroom and laundry renovations

Complete renovations by our own licensed plumbers and our own carpenter, about 40 a year, with demolition, waterproofing, tiling, plumbing and fit-off in one quote. You buy the fittings, we do everything else, and the work carries a lifetime warranty.

Hot water replacement and repairs

We install more than 100 systems a year, usually swapped the day you call. Rinnai, Rheem, Thermann and Vulcan in electric, gas storage and continuous flow, with the old unit taken away and the compliance certificate lodged. Repairs too, where the tank's still sound.

Emergency plumbing

Burst pipes, no hot water, blocked sewers and gas leaks, with a 24/7 emergency call-out. Nick carries the phone and calls straight back if he misses you, and the after-hours call-out is told to you before anyone leaves.

Blocked drains

Cleared with our own CCTV camera and high-pressure jetter, so you see what caused it rather than paying to have it cleared again in six months. On the Coast it's tree roots in old earthenware pipe most of the time.

Leak detection

Hidden leaks in slabs, walls and underground pipes found with acoustic listening, thermal imaging and pressure testing, without opening every wall to look. Then fixed in the same visit, because we're plumbers, not a detection company.

Gas fitting

Cooktops, heaters, gas hot water and pool heating by a licensed gas fitter, licence 386374C, including upsizing the gas line and arranging the meter upgrade when a new appliance needs more than the old meter can pass. Compliance certificate on every job.

Accessible bathrooms

Level-access showers, grab rails fixed into the structure, raised toilets and wider doorways for NDIS participants and aged care, built to your occupational therapist's plans by the same plumbers and carpenter.

Strata, real estate and commercial

Maintenance, urgent repairs and compliance work for property managers covering roughly 5,000 rentals, strata committees, retirement villages and commercial premises, with photos, a short report and an invoice to the agency on every job.

Everyday repairs

Toilet repairs and replacement

A running toilet is the most common leak in a house, usually a worn washer or seal inside the cistern, and it quietly adds to the water bill until it's fixed. We repair running and leaking toilets, replace cisterns and pan collars, and swap old suites for back-to-wall or wall-hung ones.

Taps, mixers and showers

If water's getting behind the tiles we find where before it gets into the wall, and if it's the waterproofing that's gone, we'll tell you what a renovation would cost to fix it properly.

Blocked toilets, sinks and showers

Cleared in the visit, and where it keeps happening, a camera down the line to find the roots or the cracked joint causing it. The full story is on the blocked drains page.

Low water pressure and old pipework

On the Coast's 1960s to 1990s homes the usual cause is galvanised steel pipe rusting from the inside. Replacing it, a room at a time or the whole house, is what fixes the pressure for good, and it's often found during a bathroom renovation.

Backflow testing and TMV servicing

Yearly backflow device testing by a licensed backflow plumber, with the results lodged with Central Coast Council, and testing and servicing of the thermostatic mixing valves in retirement villages, strata and commercial buildings.

Roof plumbing, water tanks and septic

Gutters cleaned, repaired and replaced, gutter guard fitted, downpipes and roof drainage sorted, rainwater tanks with the pump sized to the house, and septic systems and absorption trenches for unsewered properties, all by licensed plumbers.

Water filters

Puretec under-sink filters for drinking water, whole-house filters on the mains, and filtration and UV for rainwater tanks, installed by licensed plumbers, with a yearly cartridge change service.

What everyday plumbing costs

Across Australia a plumber charges $80 to $200 an hour in business hours, and most add a call-out fee of $60 to $150 on top. We don't charge a separate call-out during the day. Most everyday jobs invoice at around $200 or more depending on the work, and you're told the figure before we leave.

After hours, the emergency call-out is $300, $350 on a Sunday and $450 on a public holiday.

How a job with ZC runs

You call or send a couple of photos through the form. Simple repairs get a figure on the phone. Anything bigger gets a visit from one of the team before it's priced, because the price depends on what's behind the wall or under the ground.

The work is booked for a day that suits, and for anything that legally needs it, hot water, gas, drainage and renovations, the compliance certificate is lodged with NSW Fair Trading. Every job carries a lifetime warranty on our labour and workmanship, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

In NSW, no, beyond changing a washer or a showerhead. Anything involving drains, gas or the water supply needs a licensed plumber, and a compliance certificate for the work that requires one. Insurers ask.
