ZC completes about 40 bathroom and laundry renovations a year across the Central Coast, using our own licensed plumbers and our own carpenter.
Demolition, framing, waterproofing, tiling, plumbing and fit-off are all covered in a single all-inclusive quote. You choose and buy the fittings, the vanity, the tiles and the tapware. We take care of everything else, and payment is staged as the job progresses.
Most of the homes we renovate around Terrigal, Avoca, Kincumber and Gosford were built between the 1960s and the 1990s. Once the walls are open we renew every service in the room, which is why our work carries a lifetime warranty.
If you already have a builder, we can do the plumbing on its own, something we do for 60 to 80 other renovations on the Coast each year.
Hot water replacement
Most hot water calls start the same way, "my hot water system seems to be leaking". If your unit is more than ten years old, rusting at the base or running lukewarm, it's close to the end, and a planned replacement is always cheaper than a cold shower at six in the morning.
We replace more than 100 systems a year and install Rinnai, Rheem, Thermann and Vulcan, in electric, gas storage and continuous flow. The old unit is taken away, a new tempering valve is fitted and the compliance certificate is lodged. For a family of four we usually fit a 315 litre tank, and go larger for homes with three or four bathrooms.
Across NSW an electric storage replacement usually costs between $900 and $1,600 installed, and gas storage between $1,200 and $2,200. The price moves with the size of the unit, whether it fits where the old one was, and whether the valve and wiring need updating.
The NSW Hot Water Upgrade incentive can lower the cost of a heat pump changeover. It's delivered through accredited providers rather than through us, and we're happy to talk you through it.

Maintenance and urgent repairs for property managers looking after roughly 5,000 rentals on the Coast, including LJ Hooker Terrigal and McGrath Central Coast, as well as retirement villages and commercial fit-outs. Every job comes with photos, a short report and an invoice to the agency.
Gas fitting
Licensed gas fitting for cooktops, heaters, gas hot water and pool heating. When a new appliance needs more gas than the old meter can supply, we upsize the line and arrange the meter upgrade with the gas authority. About 15 meter upgrades a year, with a compliance certificate on every job.
Blocked drains
We clear blocked drains with our own CCTV camera and high-pressure jetter, so you know whether it was a one-off or tree roots that will be back in six months. On the Coast it's roots eight or nine times out of ten, usually in 1960s earthenware pipe. Where a pipe is beyond clearing, we arrange relining.
Leak detection
Acoustic listening, thermal imaging and pressure testing find a hidden leak in a slab, a wall or under a shower, without opening every wall to look for it.
Emergency plumbing
24/7 emergency call-out for burst pipes, no hot water, blocked sewers and gas leaks. Nick carries the phone, and if he's on a job he calls back as soon as he sees the missed call.

Meet the team
There are seven of us at ZC, and we've been working together long enough that a job runs the same way whoever turns up. Zac started the business in 2020 after learning the trade from his father, and the whole team works under his licence. Nick runs the day on the tools and is the one who picks up the phone, day or night.
Tyler, Kai and Jared are the plumbers you'll see most, and Ben is coming up through his apprenticeship alongside them. Jordan is our carpenter and project manager, which is what lets us take a bathroom from demolition to the last tile without handing it off to anyone. Kai took third in the Hunter region at the 2024 WorldSkills plumbing competition, and that's about the standard the rest of us hold each other to.

ZC is based in Terrigal and does most of its work within about twenty minutes of home. That covers the beachside strip from Wamberal through Terrigal to Avoca Beach and Kincumber, the peninsula out to Macmasters Beach and Killcare, and inland through Erina to Gosford.
